Soul – singer – trumpeter Johnny Britt releases ground breaking album “Midnight In Paris”

 

His seventh studio album features Britt for the first time singing and doing spoken word in French on this international historic album.

 

LOS ANGELES (14 February 2025): After having studied music and living in Paris, France for 3 years Britt decided to name his new album “Midnight In Paris” which will be released February 14th on J-Jams Records. “The inspiration for “Midnight In Paris” came from his time in Paris, France going to clubs and hearing that international sound. Britt quotes “I wanted to capture that feeling on the album. Britt wrote and produced all 12 songs on the international gem.

 

The collection starts off with Britt’s first smooth jazz single “Midnight In Paris”. Britt captures the listener right away from the very beginning with his golden flugelhorn sound. The track kicks off with an infectious groove that has lifted this hot single to the most adds at radio according to Billboard.

 

From his forthcoming album “Midnight In Paris” Britt wrote the deeply moving song “C’est La Vie” in honor of his daughter Mariah, which hopes to become a source of inspiration for millions of families navigating mental health challenges. The song’s uplifting message encourages resilience and hope:

Throughout his career, Johnny’s music has transcended boundaries, blending genres and cultural influences. His forthcoming French-based album Midnight in Paris will be released on February 14th VALENTINES DAY and reflects his deep connection to the French culture, language, and music. Having studied and lived in France, Johnny’s music carries the charm of Paris, and he bridges cultural divides as an African American fluent in French. He is a pioneer in combining African American jazz and soul traditions with Parisian elegance, creating a truly unique sound.

Johnny’s album Midnight in Paris features romantic Parisian vibes that evoke themes of love, resilience, and triumph over adversity. With his smooth vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and mastery of the trumpet, Britt stands out on the global stage, showcasing a timeless blend of African American and French musical traditions.

2025 also marks the 30th anniversary of the group Britt founded “Impromp2” who debuted on the Billboard Charts with their hit “Enjoy Yourself”. Signed by Steve McKeever and the legendary Gerald Busby to the Motown/MoJazzin label and became one of the first groups to blend hip hop and jazz on the west coast.

 

Johnny’s rise to success began shortly after his marriage 38 years ago, when he moved to Los Angeles to take on the role of musical director for the legendary Temptations. This pivotal moment set the stage for his career, which eventually led him to co-produce the Emmy Award-winning TV mini-series, The Temptations. When Johnny was hired by founding member Otis Williams to become the youngest-ever musical director for The Temptations, this cemented his place in  Motown music history.
